PORT ST LUCIE, Fl. - A pharmacy tech at a CVS drug store in Port St Lucie has been arrested and charged with stealing oxycodone.
Port St. Lucie police say they were contacted by CVS about a oxycodone prescription which had been filled but was missing when the customer came to the store to pick it up.
Pharmacy tech Malissa Bender admitted taking the prescription, police said. She also admitting taking a bottle of hydrocodone 2 weeks ago, according to her arrest report.
Bender told police that she took the pills for a neighbor with cancer who could not afford the medication however she could not provide information about that individual.
Bender was booked into the St Lucie County Jail on drug charges.
