Joshua Sauls arrested: Police say he was naked, carrying a knife and subdued by a Taser and K9

It took electric shocks and a dog bite, but police finally got a "Wild Eyed & Crazed" naked man off the streets.
 
Port St. Lucie police accused the nude dude -- 28-year-old Joshua Sauls -- on Aug. 18 of breaking in a Dodge Durango and slicing and hacking the interior with a knife and of trying to force open an apartment door, according to recently released records.

Sauls was arrested on four felony charges after the 3:38 a.m. incidents in the 5400 block of Northwest Moorhen Trail in Port St. Lucie.

Dispatchers indicated the naked man had a knife, accessed an apartment and was stabbing the interior of a vehicle he entered. An officer saw an apartment window smashed and water coming from the front door and a sliding glass door.

"When I turned around I observed the shadow of an unknown person running towards me," a report states. "I utilized the light on my rifle and observed a naked white male coming towards me holding what appeared to be a knife."

The naked man later was identified as Sauls, and an officer described him as "Wild Eyed & Crazed."

Sauls refused commands to drop his knife, saying he hadn't done anything or words along those lines. An officer shocked him with a Taser, and he dropped the knife and fell.

Sauls ran and was bitten by a K-9. He again was shocked after police say he kept resisting.

In addition to breaking in a Dodge Durango and trying to force open an apartment's back door, Sauls apparently went in his recently rented apartment and broke water pipes.

It wasn't clear why Sauls, who has two listed addresses in Port St. Lucie, was naked, but he said he'd taken "Triple C" earlier.
