PORT ST. LUCIE — A Port St. Lucie man was a arrested Sunday after a 17-year-old female grocery store bagger said the man became overly friendly, flirting with her on multiple occasions, according to an arrest affidavit.
The teen said he once commented they could make out after she got off work, according to the affidavit.
Then on Nov. 30, he allegedly grabbed her by the neck and hugged her when she was taking groceries to his car outside the Publix in the 7500 block of U.S. 1, Port St. Lucie.
Finally, Gregory Dawson, 54, of the 600 block of Coconut Avenue, Fort Pierce, was arrested when he went to the store on Sunday at 2:28 p.m. He is charged with cruelty toward a female child and battery.
According to the arrest affidavit, Dawson "caused (the victim) emotional anguish as she is afraid of what else he might be capable of due to touching her without her permission and making sexual comments to her knowing that she is a minor."
