PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Gov. Rick Scott attended the grand opening Wednesday of a new Bass Pro Shops in Port St. Lucie, but some in attendance didn't give him a very warm welcome.
The governor was only at the podium for a few minutes, when the crowd began chanting "save our river" and even booing.
Scott has taken criticism for the toxic water caused by Lake Okeechobee discharges.
The governor was on the Treasure Coast touting the job creation and the economic impact of the store opening.
The new Bass Pro Shops store is located at 2250 Gatlin Blvd. Grand opening festivities will continue through Oct. 27.
