PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — When hosts of a weekend house party saw their guests included Port St. Lucie police officers, they locked themselves in two bedrooms, according to a Port St. Lucie Police Department report.
About midnight Saturday, police responded to the 1200 block of Southwest Crost Avenue for an open house party complaint. Inside the house were 50 to 75 teenagers and young adults with opened bottles of alcohol on the kitchen countertop and a beer keg in the bathtub, the report states.
The four hosts then locked themselves in their bedrooms.
Later two of the hosts, Arionah Saha, 20, and Colin Coyle, 20, opened their doors. Saha said she didn't immediately open the door because she didn't know it was the police. Coyle said he didn't open the door because he panicked and ate the leaves of the five marijuana plants growing in flower pots in the attic, above his bedroom.
Police also found inside Coyle's bedroom a loaded shotgun and a knife under his mattress, an open bag of cheese curls containing a razor blade, a black digital scaleand an instrument to grind marijuana leaves, the affidavit states.
Coyle is charged with having an open house party, obstruction with out violence, possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana possession under 20 grams.
Saha is charged with having an open house party and obstruction/resisting arrest without violence.
Officers had to force their way into a locked bedroom where Kenneth Snow, 24, and Lauren Locascio, 20, were hiding.
Snow was charged with open house party, obstruction without violence, marijuana possession under 20 grams and drug paraphernalia possession. Locascio was charged with open house party and obstruction/resisting without violence.
