PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - Police in Port St. Lucie have two men in custody on burglary charges. They say the men used the same method of operation as the notorious "pillowcase burglars."
A rented Camaro was pulled over just after 10 Wednesday morning on I-95 north of the Gatlin Boulevard exit.
The car matched the description from a BOLO that had just been sent out from Martin County for a burglary attempt in Stuart where a rear window was smashed to get into a home on Southeast Washington Street.
The alarm scared the men off.
Inside the car, investigators say they found a mask, gloves, and burglary tools.
One of the men has been identified as Elijah Harris of Fort Lauderdale. He was also charged with driving without a license.
The second man, Clarence Westbrook, is also from Ft. Lauderdale.
