PORT ST. LUCIE, FL -- Brothers Jacob and Kruce Blake have a lot of work to do.  By Friday night, their backyard on Eyerly Avenue in Port St. Lucie will be transformed into the "Mercy Asylum."

What started as a few spider webs has now become a month-long construction project.  While the haunted house will be too scary for the littlest trick-or-treaters, it's not as scary as what the brothers endured as kids.

Both were diagnosed with rare brain disorders, requiring extensive medical care.  While on the road to recovery, they were touched by the Make-A-Wish foundation.

"I got a wish from them when I was little and I want to give back so the Make-A-Wish foundation has wishes for everybody else," said Jacob Blake.

Kruce is now 20 and Jacob is 17.  Jacob got his wish when he was 11, meeting Cher, a superstar associated with costume changes. Jacob called the trip one of the great experiences of his life.

The Blake brothers’ haunted house will be open Friday through Sunday from 7:30 to 11 pm at their home in the 200 block of SW Eyerly Avenue.
