FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A no kill animal shelter which serves the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee County will soon be relocating.

Dogs and Cats Forever is moving into a new home at 4600 Selvitz Road in Fort Pierce.

Construction on the new 5,900 square foot building should be completed by mid-September.

170 shelter animals should be in their new home by October.

The shelter says the new facility will have 44 indoor/outdoor dog runs as well as 6 free-roaming cat rooms.

The shelter depends on donations as well as endowments and grants to operate.
