A woman told police she was struck in the face by a cheesecake while walking down the street.
Not a single slice, but an entire cheesecake, which "made her eye swell and bruise," according to a recently released Fort Pierce police report.
The apparent case of the flying delectable dessert item went down November 13 in the 600 block of North 23rd Street in Fort Pierce.
A 30-year-old woman told police her 56-year-old friend hurled the cheesecake at her face because of an earlier argument. Police noted the younger woman's left eye was swollen and bruised, but the bruise didn't look fresh.
"I found the cheesecake in perfect condition in the middle of the road, indicating that the pastry was not thrown," a report states.
Cheesecake, a rich dessert that is low in neither fat nor calories, is not to be confused with cheese steak, a popular submarine sandwich, or Cheez Doodles, a cheese-flavored, puff-type snack. Cheese is also what the moon is fabled to be made of.
Cheesecake of various types can be purchased at a restaurant chain known as The Cheesecake Factory. Many grocery stores and bakeries also stock cheesecakes.
Meanwhile, the 56-year-old woman told police of an earlier argument about the 30-year-old woman owing her money, but said it ended without physical conflict. She said the 30-year-old woman later approached her and started to push her and pull on her hair.
Both women were described as "highly intoxicated" and "very uncooperative," a report states.
The report didn't state what happened to the cheesecake.
