Woman calls others 'trailers' in Fort Pierce mobile home mayhem, police say

FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- A woman in a mobile home community said to have called other people there "trailers" was arrested after accusations she hit a man, according to a recently released affidavit.

The tumult in the trailer park in the 4600 block of South U.S. 1 in Fort Pierce happened Aug. 7 as a man identified as the victim told police he was on the porch at a friend's home.

He said he saw Kimberly Ann Cobb-tello, 45, verbally quarreling with her boyfriend in the street. Cobb-tello, he said, looked intoxicated.

She came on the porch and yelled at everyone, calling them "trailers."

Cobb-tello hit the victim in the back of the head before he and others told her to scram.

She left, but kept yelling they were "trailers." She then is accused of hitting the victim, who said he's a disabled stroke victim, and breaking his glasses.

The term "trailer" can refer to a wheeled, or mobile, home designed to be towed by a vehicle. Such residences often are found clustered in areas that some refer to as "trailer parks."

A trailer also is a large, wheeled device used in hauling goods, such as toilet paper and riding lawnmowers, or foodstuffs, such as pickled eggs and cream cheese.

Further, a trailer can be a short, promotional clip for an upcoming movie.

The trailer definition intended by Cobb-tello wasn't listed in the affidavit.

Fort Pierce police couldn't find Cobb-tello, but about 30 minutes later they got another call about her.

They took her to a home that most definitely is not mobile -- the St. Lucie County jail.

Cobb-tello, whose listed address is the same as the trailer park, was arrested on a misdemeanor battery charge.
