FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A 19-year-old man is in jail in connection with the weekend armed robbery of a Mobil station on Orange Avenue.
According to police, Tony Young of Fort Pierce, was identified through fingerprints and arrested Monday afternoon when Detective Tyrone Campbell saw him walking near North 29th Street and Avenue D. Now he is in the St. Lucie County Jail under a $38,000 bail.
Young is charged with armed robbery, giving a false identification, and sale of marijuana.
Police reports state that on Saturday, a male entered the gas station in the 4100 block of Orange Avenue, displayed a firearm and demanded money.
The man punched the store clerk when the clerk tried to close a teller window. Then the suspect fled on foot.
