Deputies seek help in identifying suspect in Ft. Pierce shooting

FT. PIERCE, Fla. - St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in identifying a suspect in an early Saturday morning shooting in Fort Pierce.  

Around 1:40 a.m., deputies were dispatched to the 2700 block of Kingsley Drive in the Sheraton Plaza neighborhood ,where they found Jason Rainey, of Kingsley Drive, lying in the roadway, according to a media release.

Detectives were unable to learn from bystanders who had shot Rainey, 34, who was taken to a local hospital. No word on the severity of his injuries.

"It appeared he had been shot three times," St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara said.

He asks anyone with information about the shooting to call 911 in St. Lucie County.

"If people want to report their tips anonymously, and be eligible for a cash reward if the tip leads to an arrest, they can call Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 1-800-273-8477 (TIPS)," he said.
