FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Hundreds of law enforcement officers from around the area are paying their respects for Sgt. Gary Morales today.
Sgt. Morales was shot and killed last week while performing a traffic stop.
His alleged killer, Eriese Tisdale, remains in jail without bond.
The funeral for St. Lucie County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Gary Morales was held at Westside Baptist Church in Fort Pierce.
Public viewing began at 10 a.m. and the service began at noon. The church is located at 3361 S. Jenkins Road.
A graveside service will take place immediately following at Forest Hills Memorial Park, 2001 SW Murphy Road in Palm City.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff's office urges anyone wishing to make donations to the Morales family may make checks payable to "The 100 Club of St. Lucie County, Florida." Please designate the donation is for the Morales family. 100% of the donation goes directly to the family.
Donations to the Hundred Club are tax-deductible. The Hundred Club is a "501-c-3" not-for-profit corporation. Checks can be mailed to The Hundred Club of St. Lucie County: 4700 West Midway Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34981.
LOCATION AND TIME: Public viewing begins at 10 a.m. at Westside Baptist Church, 3361 S. Jenkins Road in Fort Pierce. Funeral service begins at noon.
Funeral procession will travel north on Jenkins Road, west on Okeechobee Road, south on Interstate 95 exiting east on Becker Road and ending at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Palm City. Cemetery is located at 2001 S.W. Murphy Road.
It's unclear when procession will begin and end.
TRAFFIC: Law enforcement officers are directing traffic and parking at Westside Baptist Church. Motorists not connected to the funeral are asked to make alternate commute plans around the funeral procession.
Sheriff's officials remind residents, as in any procession, the estimated speed will be 20 to 40 miles per hour. The funeral route will be closed to other traffic during the procession.

ATTENDING: Gov. Rick Scott plans to attend funeral services for Sgt. Morales at Westside Baptist from noon to 2 p.m. Scott will join an estimated 1,000 mourners, which include numerous law enforcement agencies from across the state.
