FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- Saint Lucie County is now home to a brand new virtual school.
The Mosaic Digital Academy welcomes students from St. Lucie, Martin and Okeechobee counties.
This is the first year for the school, which is all online. More than 160 students are already enrolled.
They can take advantage of local teachers, clubs, activities and sports.
"We have kind of a unique opportunity in virtual, we have an engagement summary that we can actually look at pretty much any time of the day we can check on the students to make sure they on pace, that they are actually logging in how they're doing on their assessments, teachers can actually call the students and assess over the phone," said school coordinator Jeanne Ziemba.
Enrollment for this semester is over, but opens back up in October.
