FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- A man was arrested Monday at a Fort Pierce Walmart after police received complaints from employees of a suspicious man following and grabbing female customers.

When officers arrived at the Walmart on Okeechobee Road around 2:30 p.m., they were told by employees that a man entered the store several times over the course of several weeks, but did not make any purchases.

The man, who was later identified as Jimmy Hargrove, 53, was instead following female customers around the store and making them uncomfortable, employees told officers.

Store surveillance cameras captured Hargrove following women through several departments, appearing to look occupied, according to an arrest affidavit.

Once Hargrove was alone with a female customer, officers said he would drop a handful of store merchandise and begin to touch his body against their butts. He would then apologize and walk away to find another female customer and repeat this behavior, according to an incident report.

Police located Hargrove on an aisle containing baby supplies. Hargrove had his hand out getting ready to touch another female customer, who was pushing a baby in a shopping cart, according to the arrest affidavit.

Police immediately detained Hargrove, removing him from the store. He was charged with two counts of battery.
