FORT PIERCE, Fla. — Two armed men who previously had haircuts at Frank's Unisex Barber Shop apparently had more on their minds than going back for a trim in the middle of the afternoon.
On Sept. 29, they returned to the barber shop, in the 3200 block of Orange Avenue, and both "began acting suspicious by walking in and out of the store and going to the bathroom," according to police reports.
One stood at the door. The other went up to the 66-year-old owner and put a gun to his head, demanding money. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and hit the owner in the head.
Both ran away, but one left fingerprints on the doorway that on Thursday led to the arrest of Cletis Lewis, 21, of the 3300 block of Avenue R, Fort Pierce, on a charge of armed robbery.
Lewis was arrested without incident in the 700 block of North 23rd Street. He is being held without bail in the St. Lucie County Jail.
Police continue looking for the second suspect.
In addition to Lewis being identified by fingerprints, the owner confirmed Lewis was the person who stood at the doorway with a gun, police reports state.
