FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- A new wildfire that started today in St. Lucie County near an area where a wildfire set four homes ablaze in Fort Pierce in March is now 90 percent contained, the Florida Fire Service reports.
This new fire is located north of Indrio Road on the turnpike feeder road behind the Kingdom Hall building, according to Florida Fire Service.
The fire spread about two acres and is moving slowly, Florida Fire Service says.
There are no evacuations and eight structures near the fire are secure, the forest service reports.
St. Lucie County Fire Rescue is assisting the forest service in containing the fire.
Many units are on scene working to protect the surrounding buildings, including a bulldozer, a tanker, a helicopter and two structure engines.
