FORT PIERCE, Fla. -- It was not the way Tony Williams imagined his vacation would end.

Tired after driving back from a weekend in Orlando, Williams and his family arrived at their home in Fort Pierce around 2 a.m. to discover it had been ransacked -- and the intruders were still there.

Williams said he found two men sitting on his living room couch and smoking at his home on Avenue M. One man ran, but the second went after Williams with a kitchen knife.

Williams managed to wrestle away the knife and stab the intruder, 44-year-old Clarence Reese, according to a report from the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.

Reese was hospitalized and faces charges of burglary and aggravated assault.

Williams said that all of his kids' Christmas presents were stolen along with computers and jewelry.

He's hoping the neighborhood will step up and help locate the second burglar in this case.
