FORT PIERCE — Police are investigating a drowning of a man near the city marina in the downtown area Tuesday morning.
Around 8 a.m. detective Dennis Mc Williams says that police received a call that there was a diver down.
The man was doing work under water when other workers noticed he didn't appear to be breathing, police say.
The man, identified as 40-year-old Shawn Elliot, was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The incident remains under investigation by Fort Pierce police, who say there is no indication of foul play.
Detectives say they are working with OSHA.
