US Army Specialist Jordan Schumann was killed in Afghanistan earlier this month.
The Memorial service starts at 7 p.m. at Westside Baptist Church, in Fort Pierce.
Friends and family say they are overwhelmed by all of the support.
"We were proud of him when he first went into the army and I am proud to have him as my son in law," says Jay Morgan.
Today Schumann's father -in-law spoke about how his daughter Sarah is doing.
"She's facing each day head on during this very difficult time," adds Morgan.
Sarah, Jordan's widow is pregnant expecting their first child in September.
"I think that is what is helping her get through having that to look forward to," explains Morgan.
Their son who will never have chance to meet his father, but Jordan Schumann's family says there will be plenty of stories about him to go around for years to come.
