FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Dozens came to Jaycee Park in Fort Pierce for the first annual Mom's Day 5K.
The newly started Mother's Day tradition is a run/walk aiming at giving back to the community.
There were two locations for the inaugural run.
One was in Vero Beach and another was in Fort Pierce.
The 5K in Fort Pierce benefited the United For Families organization and the race in Vero Beach benefited an organization known as The Source.
The Source helps at-risk families and individuals.
At the race mothers were greeted with signs and more by their children who were celebrating the special day with their parents.
