St. LUCIE COUNTY — A 16-year-old Fort Pierce resident was killed about 6 p.m. Tuesday when he turned his moped into oncoming traffic on 25th Street at Canoe Creek Lane near White City, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Craig Frizzle's 1986 Honda Spree collided with a vehicle as he was making a left turn onto Canoe Creek Lane. He was thrown off his moped and ended up on South 25th Street.
Frizzle was pronounced dead at the Lawnwood Regional Medical Center.
The crash caused $6,000 in damage to the other vehicle, a 2008 Nissan.
The Port St. Lucie driver had minor injuries and his passenger was uninjured, a FHP report states.
