FORT PIERCE, Fla — Police arrested a 23-year-old man after his girlfriend said she felt the only way she could escape him was by jumping from her hotel room’s second story balcony, according to an affidavit released Friday.
Anthony Hall, of the 1900 block of Cypress Drive in Fort Pierce, was arrested on charges including domestic battery and false imprisonment following the Thursday morning incidents.
The woman told police she was sleeping in her room at a hotel in the 1200 block of Seaway Drive when she heard a knock on the door. Thinking it was the maid, the woman opened the door. Hall came in the room. She said he was upset because she didn’t want to see him any longer.
She said Hall wouldn’t let her leave and blocked the door. He punched her in the head when she tried again to leave, according to the affidavit.
“Fearing for her safety, the only way she could get out of the room was to jump from the second story balcony to the ground,” the affidavit states.
The woman ran, and police arrested Hall.
