Bomb squad investigate a possible 'old artillery shell' in a Fort Pierce home

FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Fort Pierce Police bomb squad units are on scene at a home located at 900 block of Sunrise Blvd in Fort Pierce.  

Police received a call after the family found what they believed to be a an "old artillery shell"  in the crawl space of their home, according to Fort Pierce spokesman Dennis McWilliams.

Police set up a perimeter as they investigated the incident.

No information was released by police about possible evacuations near the home.
