FORT PIERCE — The Fort Pierce Police are investigating an early Wednesday morning shooting where a woman standing on her porch was shot in the buttocks, according to incident report.
About 12:28 a.m. officials responded to the 1200 block of North 23rd Street with a gunshot wound in the right buttocks.
The woman said she and family members were outside when an unidentified man walking along the south side of her home pulled out a gun and shot her, the report states.
"I was sitting next to my sister when I heard a gunshot, my right ear was ringing and when I turned to look at who had taken the shot they were gone," the woman's sister is quoted as saying in the report.
The woman and her family could not provide police with a description of the suspect.
