ST. LUCIE COUNTY — A 25-year-old man wanted in connection with a March shooting in which a man was found bleeding in the middle of the street was arrested Tuesday, according to affidavits released Wednesday and a sheriff's official.
Donairus Johnson, of the 1800 block of South 30th Street in Fort Pierce, was arrested on charges including attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, retaliation against witness, victim or informant, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and violation of probation.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office on March 20 announced Johnson was being sought in connection with the March 3 attempted slaying of Jason Rainey, 34 at the time. Rainey was found about 2 a.m. on Kingsley Drive, which is near Juanita Avenue and North 25th Street.
Johnson was arrested about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at his listed address by sheriff's officials.
At the time of the shooting, deputies described Rainey as being "conscious and breathing, but unable to provide any information about the incident," according to an incident report.
He'd been shot three times with a pistol, reports show.
No other information was immediately available.
