FORT PIERCE, Fla - St. Lucie County deputies issued citations to two drivers in Wednesday's three car crash that sent five people to the hospital.

Investigators said a 17-year-old, driving a Pontiac, was driving north on 25th Street when the driver ran the red light at Edwards Road.

The teen ran into a KIA sport utility truck, driven by Maincia Garcia of Fort Pierce, deputies said.  Deputies said Garcia crashed into another vehicle and then flipped onto its side.

All occupants, except one, were taken to the hospital. A ten-year-old was airlifted to the trauma center in Palm Beach County, while the rest were transported by ambulances to hospitals in Fort Pierce.

Deputies cited the 17-year-old for running a red light and Garcia was given a ticket for driving without a license and failure to use a child restraint.
