FORT PIERCE, Fla.-- About 100 protesters converged outside the St. Lucie County Elections Supervisor's office Tuesday morning, demanding an accurate count of elections results.

The protesters, standing on the street outside the Orange Blossom Business Center office, waved signs and American flags while chanting "Count all the votes" and "Stop voter fraud." Some signs read "We deserve a fair and accurate election" and "We demand a full recount."

At least a dozen local veterans also protested along the same street Monday night. Some of the protesters said they fear their votes weren't counted in the race between Rep. Allen West (R-FL) and Democrat Patrick Murphy.

St. Lucie County held a recount over the weekend, with West coming out with a few hundred more votes than before. Despite the change in results, Murphy still came out victorious.

After the results are officially certified Friday, West will have 10 days to contest the outcome of the race in court.

West’s legal advisers could file a motion as soon as today preventing St. Lucie County from certifying the election results.

As of this afternoon, there are no hearings scheduled in St. Lucie County pertaining to the election.

According to Politico, Republican officials privately acknowledge that West has limited legal avenues to pursue and that, absent a major shift in the count, will soon come under pressure to concede.

Meanwhile, Murphy’s team is moving forward with the transition process. The Democrat is scheduled to arrive on Capitol Hill Tuesday for New Member Orientation.

"Patrick is excited to be in Washington this week for New Member Orientation as he prepares to take office in January," Murphy campaign manager Anthony Kusich told FLDemocracy.

"He is ready to put the campaign behind him and move forward with addressing the challenges facing the people of the Treasure Coast and Palm Beaches, first and foremost of which is getting Florida back to work," Kusich added.
