Accident on I-95 results in one fatality, gas leak

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. - An accident at the 124 mile marker of I-95 has resulted in one fatality at approximately 2:30 p.m. Thursday.

The St. Lucie County Fire Department responded to the vehicle accident just south of the Midway Road exit, which involved a green mini-van and a tractor trailer.

There were three other people involved, but only one needed to be taken to a hospital. There was also approximately 25 gallons of fuel and diesel leaking onto the road. The St. Lucie Fire Department's special operations team is on scene to help contain the situation.

North bound lanes on I-95 were blocked earlier, but as of 4 p.m., one lane has been reopened near mile marker 125.
