Deputy involved in two-car collision

SUBURBAN BOCA RATON, Fla. - An off duty Palm Beach County Sheriff's detective has been involved in a two-vehicle accident, according to a PBSO spokesperson.
The accident happened near Boca Rio Road and Palmetto Park Road in suburban Boca Raton.
According to the sheriff's office, a woman in a red Buick was eastbound on Palmetto Park Road when she lost control of her car and crossed the median. Her car struck a dark-colored Chevy Impala, driven by a PBSO detective, which was westbound on Palmetto Park Road.
The woman in the Buick was ejected and transported by Trauma Hawk to Delray Medical Center. She is listed in critical condition.
The detective did not appear to be seriously hurt, according to the sheriff's office. He was transported by ambulance to West Boca Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
Palmetto Park Road and Boca Rio Road are shut in both directions.
