DEERFIELD Beach, Fla. - Golfers in Palm Beach County are reacting to an armed robbery and shooting death at Deerfield Country Club.

At 6:30 Thursday night, the Broward County Sheriff’s office says two masked men robbed two golfers near the course’s 17th hole.

One of the golfers, 35 year old Latarus Randall was shot.

Randall died Friday from his injuries.

Randall was with another golfer who has not been identified early Friday afternoon.

At Okeeheelee Park Public Golf Course in West Palm Beach, golfers were shocked.

“Kind of concerned, you know, that the world has resulted into this kind of thing where you have to be concerned at a golf course? At a club?” said Jack Trippe, who was golfing Friday afternoon.

Palm Beach County Golf Operations Supervisor Paul Connell says it’s shocking to hear about the shooting at Deerfield Country Club.

Connell says security measures are being taking at Palm Beach County owned golf courses with park rangers and volunteers.
