SUBURBAN DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputies and DEA agents have joined forces to take down what they say may have been a marijuana growing operation in suburban Delray Beach.

A spokeswoman for the sheriff's department says they had been watching the home at 8314 Sawpine Road for several days.

For more than an hour, several people were seen handcuffed in front of the house, being questioned by deputies.

Some of the deputies were wearing masks.

At around 4:20 p.m. Thursday, all the people being detained on the front lawn were taken into waiting police cruisers. A total of 7 people are in custody, including six men and one woman. They are in their 30s and 40s.

A PBSO spokesperson says marijuana plants were being grown at the house. At least 50 pounds of marijuana was recovered, according to investigators.

Two Mercedes Benz automobiles and a Lexus are being impounded and electricity to the home is being shut off.
