SUBURBAN DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - A single engine plane that experienced engine trouble landed west of Delray Beach Monday afternoon.
The pilot, in his late 50's, was traveling from Bartow to Boca Raton.
He felt his options were to put down on a golf course or a lake.
Being an experienced pilot, his instinct was to protect himself and people on the ground, so he opted for a lake because the plane was able to do water landings.
The pilot was not injured and refused medical treatment.
The FAA will investigate.
Florida Aviation Administration records show that the aircraft is a Lake L-4 single-engine plane and is registered to Sunshine Sales Unlimited Inc. out of Deerfield Beach.
