SUBURBAN DELRAY BEACH, Fla.-- Work crews are busy on a roadway widening project in suburban Delray Beach.
The project is expanding a portion of Atlantic Avenue, west of Florida's Turnpike.
The widening project is expected to take several months. In the meantime, traffic will continue to travel on two lanes.
Drivers will use the new westbound lanes, while crews refurbish the old lanes which will then be used for eastbound traffic.
Also, construction workers say Lyons Road at Atlantic will be closed for the next few days. It's expected to open again on September 10.
Drivers who use this route will have to travel a little farther south to Clint Moore Road.
