Relative of canal victims asks for help

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - The great grandmother who helped raised two children found dead in a Delray Beach canal is asking the community for help with funeral costs.

Barbara Flint, who is affectionately known as 'Mother Flint,' spoke at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Wednesday morning.

She said she is devastated by the tragedy that involved the deaths of her granddaughter Felicia Brown as well as Ju'Tyra Allen and Jermaine McNeil, her great grandchildren.

She said she often took Jermaine and Ju'Tyra to Sunday school. She said they were perfect little angels who sat quietly.

She said she loved them as much as Clem Beauchamp's children, whom she said she also helped raise.

Beauchamp is a suspect in the deaths and was the boyfriend of Brown who was Jermaine and Ju'Tyra's mother.

Brown's body was found at a West Palm Beach landfill last year.

Donations to help defray funeral costs can be made to St. John's Missionary Baptist Church in care of the Brown/Allen family.

The Boca Jets youth sports team, where Jermaine was a player, has set up a fund at Wachovia under Jermaine's name.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m.
