DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Two 'bump and rob' suspects are in custody after positively being identified in a police lineup.

Michael Alan Barnett, 17 and Deonte Catavious Peterkins, 17 are both charged with attempted murder.

Peterkins is also charged with aggravated assault with a firearm.

According to Delray Beach police at approximately 3:00 a.m. on May 19th, a "dark-colored Jeep brand SUV bumped another car traveling north on Military Trail near Atlantic Avenue."

Police said that when the victim got out of the car to check the damage, the passenger and driver of the SUV approached him with a gun.

According to the probable cause affidavit the victim stated she heard the driver of the Jeep say, "do what you need to do, merk them."

The probable cause affidavit states that 'merk' is a street slang for murder.

The passenger shot the victim twice according to investigators.

"At this point we are not stating that the two suspects arrested are responsible for all of the bump and robs in the county, said Delray Beach police Sgt. Nicole Guerriero.

Both Peterkins and Barnett are currently at the Palm Beach County Jail.
