DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Some Delray Beach residents want to overturn a city rule banning dogs from the beach.
Pet owners say they're tired of having to drive to Lake Worth or Jupiter to bring their dogs to the water.
Their plan is to draft a petition to drum up support.
They say even if the dogs are allowed for a few hours, that would be better than nothing.
"It's too hot for them to be there in the middle of the day anyway, when people are there. The early morning hours of late evening would be a wonderful compromise," said Mary Yuhas.
Yuhas says she was once filed for bringing her dog to the beach, it cost her $54.
