DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - David Muringer refused his first appearance hearing in Palm Beach County court Tuesday morning.   Muringer is charged with manslaughter and unlawful disposal of human remains.

On Monday Delray Beach police arrested Muringer for killing Doris Lopez, 48, in October.

Muringer originally told police a drug dealer or drug overdose must have killed Lopez, who he had been casually dating.

But according to the probable cause affidavit, Muringer finally told police Lopez died after he strangled her during sex.  According to the documents, Muringer wrapped the body in plastic, placed it in a barrel and then put it in Lopez's car.

Police discovered the car behind a pizza shop in Delray Beach on October 26 last year.

Delray Beach police plan to discuss the case further Tuesday.

Since Muringer refused his court hearing, he'll likely be in court Wednesday morning.

Luz Lopez, sister of the victim, says Doris was a Jersey girl trying to make a new life for herself in the sunshine state.

"She rode motorcycles. She loved the beach, that's why she moved to Florida," stated Lopez. "She loved to smile, and would help anybody or everybody she could."
