DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - A Lake Worth man was arrested Saturday morning in connection with the stabbing of his ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend in the 1100 block of SW 7th Avenue in Delray Beach.

William Charles Finkle, 40, was charged with attempted second-degree murder, according to a Delray Beach media release.

Witnesses told detectives that Finkle fought with his ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend, Michael Glaubrecht, stabbing him nine times in different areas of his body.

Glaubrecht was taken to Delray Medical Center by a friend, according to police. He suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Finkle was arrested later in the day with the assistance of Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Finkle has 22 previous felony arrests and was on probation when arrested on Saturday, according to the release. He is being held at the Palm Beach County Jail.
