DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - 9 people are in temporary shelter after fire at a multi-family residence in Delray Beach on the first day of the new year.
The fire broke out around 5:00 Sunday afternoon at a home on Snapper way.
Delray Beach Fire Rescue crews quickly contained the blaze and secured the smoke-filled home. Three families live in the residence, five adults and four children.
They are now getting help from the American Red Cross.
Damage was contained to just one room of the residence. The families will be allowed back home once the smoke clears and power is restored.
