Florida First Lady Ann Scott at Delray library Monday

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Florida First Lady Ann Scott will host a children's reading session at 1 p.m. Monday at the Delray Beach Public Library.

The event is part of the statewide Summer Literacy Adventure program, which Scott launched in May. It it invites students to pledge to read a certain number of books over the summer.

The reading program encourages Florida students to participate by visiting the Just Read, Florida! website at justreadflorida.com to take the pledge. A select school with the most participating students in the Summer Literacy Adventure will be recognized during the 2011-12 school year.

The Delray Beach Public Library is at 100 W. Atlantic Avenue.
