DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews battled a house fire Saturday afternoon in the 4000 block of Ellwood Drive in Delray Beach.

Dispatchers received a call around 2 p.m. about a house on fire at 4586 Ellwood Drive.

A family of four rents the home, but no one was inside the house when the fire broke out, and there are no reported injuries.

Two of five family cats and one hamster made it out alive. The whereabouts of the other three felines are unknown at this time.

This is the second house fire in Palm Beach County on Saturday.

Earlier in the day, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue and West Palm Beach Fire Rescue raced to a home at 918 Bunker Road, following reports of heavy smoke billowing from the residence. No one was injured in that fire and the family was assisted by the Red Cross.

The Red Cross dispatched four volunteers to assist the Delray Beach family displaced by the fire.
