Fire destroys bedroom of Delray Beach home

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- A fire devoured the bedroom of a Delray Beach home just before 9 a.m. in the 500 block SW Ninth Street, according to Delray Beach Fire Rescue.

Fire crews raced to the unoccupied home, finding smoke and flames shooting from a bedroom window, authorities said.

But the fire only affected one house and crews needed only nine minutes to extinguish the blaze.

A search yielded no victims in the home, and authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.
