Elderly Delray woman dies after losing control of her car and crashing

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - An elderly woman was killed Thursday evening after losing control of her car and hitting a tree in Delray Beach.
Sandra Mellinger, 69, of Delray Beach, lost control of her Nissan Altima and struck a tree. The impact caused the car to roll over, said Stephanie Slater, spokeswoman for city police.
Mellinger died at the scene.
The accident happened around 7:45 p.m.at Southeast 28 th Circle and Southeast 5 th Circle.
