DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- A Delray Beach man is accused of possessing child pornography.
A task force made up of the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office, the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office and Delray Beach police arrested 61-year-old Darrell Smith Wednesday morning.
Many undercover agents were involved in the case. They say Smith was trading porn online.
"This morning our agency assisted Palm Beach County Sheriffs deputies and the state attorney's office with a search warrant. They located an IP address that was trading child pornography," said Delray Beach Police Department Sgt. Nicole Guerriero.
Guerriero said it was a priority to arrest Smith because he lives only two blocks away from Carver Middle School.
"Of course it's unsettling to hear your neighbors are possibly engaging in crimes against children especially with the school so close," says Bhavna Bhen, who lives next door to Smith.
Smith faces five years in prison for each of the 20 counts of child pornography if he is convicted. He is expected to go before a judge Thursday morning.
