DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Friends and family of Haile Brockington say she was daddy's little girl
"Not good at all. It's sad that a two year old had to die this way," said cousin Darrell Bridgett.
The day after the two year old died, the family says it is doing a little better.
Haile's mother, Nelder Lester, says her daughter was full of love. "Haile liked everything. She liked to get in the pool. She liked to play. She loved her sisters and brother. She loved her mom and dad," said Lester.
"When a tragedy like this happens it kind of makes you wonder. You need to check up on your kids more often," said Bridgett.
Haile's mother says she has not received an apology from the day care center.
"It had to be that they didn't check all the rows of seats. I'm not sure at the time because I really don't know the actual stats but I know the paramedics removed her from the car seat," said Lester.
Family and friends want answers.
"I try to figure out how could a person leave a little baby in a van for that long period of time and not knowing that they left them in there. And then I think about how the baby passed away inside the van, hot, exhausted, crying. It's not right at all,"said Bridgett.
The family says the funeral arrangements are set for next Saturday.
Haile's mother says the family has to deal with this tragedy the best way they can because today is Haile's younger sister's birthday.
