DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Delray Beach Police officials said an arrest was made this morning after someone confessed to setting a large structure fire.
A spokesperson for Delray Beach Fire Rescue said Emile Scott Jr. turned himself in this morning, telling officers he started the fire at his home.
"[This fire] is being investigated as an arson," said Delray Beach Fire Rescue Capt . Curtis Jepsen .
When crews arrived, thick smoke was pouring from two ends of the building. By 7 a.m ., firefighters were ventilating the home at 121 Southwest 11th Avenue in Delray Beach and working to ensure the fire was out, dispatchers report.
Jepsen said Scott Jr.'s wife and child were not home at the time and no one was hurt.
