DELRAY BEACH, Fla. - Family members of Clem Beauchamp say he's not capable of murder.
Beauchamp is the Delray Beach man suspected of killing two children and dumping their bodies in a canal.
He was in federal court Friday facing unrelated weapons counts.
His family says potential murder charges seem shocking.
"I felt like he took good care, good, good, good care of those kids, whatever he did for his kids, he did for those kids," said the suspect's sister, Margo Beauchamp.
His grandmother, Doris Haynes, added, "From what I understand, the kids that are dead, Clem took very good care of them and he was very devoted to those children and I just can't imagine he wouldve killed them, he sent them to school and he was just good to them."
At this time, Beauchamp has not been charged with those murders that stem from the discovery of the bodies of two children on March 2.
He'll be back in court for the unrelated weapons charges in April.
The judge is allowing him to withold his right to a speedy trial, so he can have time to look for a lawyer.
