DELRAY BEACH, Fla, - Bao Tran of Fort Lauderdale has been arrested by Delray Beach police on charges that he used stolen debit cards to obtain over $130,000 worth of goods and services.
Tran, according to police, took a Chase debit card and a Wells Fargo debit card from mailboxes on Vista Del Mar Drive in Delray Beach.
The owners of both cards reported them stolen to police.
Police say that Tran was captured on surveillance completing five ATM money transfers using a stolen Wells Fargo business account card totaling $60,000.
Tran, according to investigators, made purchases totaling over $41,000 at eight different Best Buy locations also on the Wells Fargo account, as well as over $8,000 in transactions on the Chase card.
Tran, according to information supplied by the Seminole Police Department, made eighteen transactions at the Seminole Casino for almost $38,000.
Tran has been arrested and is now facing grand theft charges in excess of $100,000.
