BOCA RATON - Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control responded to the Boca Chase Development Wednesday after residents called in to say they spotted the body of an otter in a pond in the same area where a series of attacks have happened recently.

Captain Dave Walesky confirms that the body of the otter was recovered earlier Wednesday. It will be taken in for rabies testing.

Walesky says the otter appears to have been dead for a couple of days. Based on where the otter was found, they are looking into the possibility that this is the same otter responsible for attacking a man, woman, dog and teen in separate attacks in the last two weeks.

The otter was found in the next pond over from a pond where a teen was attacked on Saturday.

Anyone with information is asked to call 561-671-4184. Rabies shots are available through Animal Care and Control by calling 561-233-1200.
